Aeronautical Engineer

As a Mass Properties Engineer, you will help ensure mission success by developing and maintaining mass properties models for complex launch vehicles. Your work will guide design decisions, influence system performance, and support critical engineering milestones. This early-career role is ideal for someone excited to collaborate across disciplines and deepen their experience in mass properties engineering.
• Develop and maintain mass properties models for launch vehicles and subsystems
• Perform weight and balance analyses, including estimating and optimizing mass properties
• Establish design target weights and track compliance throughout project lifecycles
• Maintain mass properties accounting systems and prepare trend analyses for leadership
• Support proposal evaluations, design reviews, and operational documentation
• Conduct component weighing and verification to improve estimate accuracy
• Present findings during technical and program reviews
• Collaborate daily with cross-functional groups to gather data and communicate results
• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related STEM field
• 0–5 years of experience in an engineering discipline
• Strong attention to detail and ability to collaborate effectively
• Proficiency with MS Office products
• Basic understanding and use of CAD tools
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
• Active Secret security clearance
• Experience programming with Access VBA and Excel Macros
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
• Hands-on or academic experience with mass properties (mass, weight, CG, moments/product of inertia, etc.)
