Employee Development Specialist
PDS Tech Commercial is hiring an Employee Development Specialist to support a major leader in the aerospace industry. In this influential role, you will guide, train, and mentor employees, ensuring they have the skills and confidence to perform at the highest level in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Your expertise will directly shape workforce capability, safety, and performance across key operations.
This full-time, 12-month consulting opportunity is based onsite in Everett, WA. You’ll support the Interiors Responsibility Center (IRC) training team, delivering hands-on and classroom instruction for employees working across fabrication and manufacturing operations. This is an ideal role for a seasoned manufacturing professional who excels in training others and solving complex technical challenges.
Job Type: Full Time; Consultant (12 Months)
Location: Everett, WA
Schedule: Monday–Friday; must be available for both 1st and 2nd shift
Start Times: 5:00 AM or 2:00 PM
End Times: 1:30 PM or 10:30 PM
Pay Rate starting at: $39.73 per hour
Attendance: Regular, predictable attendance required
Deliver training using various instructional methods, platforms, and techniques.
Serve as a subject matter expert, providing learning consultation and technical guidance.
Conduct both formal classroom and hands-on, on-the-job training sessions.
Support problem-solving by offering professional assistance for difficult or unusual technical issues.
Facilitate team learning, lead process improvements, and support collaboration across operations.
Maintain and expand knowledge across multiple areas of the statement of work to support evolving needs.
Interpret and apply regulatory, commercial, and organizational standards to ensure compliant learning delivery.
Emphasize safety protocols and encourage best practices during all training activities.
Partner with Functional Development teams as a subject matter expert.
Edit existing training materials or create temporary solutions to support urgent business needs.
Work across multiple shifts and sites within the Puget Sound region; occasional out-of-region travel may be required.
5+ years of experience in aircraft manufacturing operations in one or more of the following:
Interiors Fabrication
Assembly
Mechanical operations
Quality Assurance
Experience training, mentoring, or instructing in a technical environment.
Ability to read and interpret technical data, drawings, and documentation.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Experience in commercial aircraft interiors fabrication, including:
IRC Inserts (Part 1 and 2)
Tab & Slot Assembly and Bonding Inspection
Decorative Laminates – Application Method V
Oxygen Type IIb: Interiors Oxygen Drawing
Experience transferring knowledge through structured and informal training.
Ability to demonstrate technical skills related to aircraft operations or maintenance (servicing, jacking, towing, fueling, component installation or removal, etc.).
Typically 6+ years of related experience or relevant military background.
Advanced degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) preferred but not required.
