PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a talented and driven Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) Technician to support a leading aerospace innovator in Cedar Rapids, IA. In this high-impact role, you will be at the forefront of ensuring product quality, reliability, and performance through advanced testing and troubleshooting techniques used across cutting-edge manufacturing operations.
This is a full-time, first-shift consulting opportunity (7 AM–3:30 PM) lasting 11 months, with a competitive pay rate of $37.95 per hour. For the right candidate, this role has the potential to transition to a permanent position.
As an NDE Technician, you will provide essential support for In-Circuit Test (ICT) operations, including programming, troubleshooting, analysis, and new system integration. Your work will directly contribute to the accuracy, efficiency, and success of test processes that keep aerospace products safe, functional, and ready for mission-critical applications.
• Provide hands-on factory support for In-Circuit Test (ICT) operations
• Generate new ICT programs and update existing ones
• Conduct debugging, electronics troubleshooting, and machine troubleshooting
• Perform detailed analysis and collaborate with vendors to resolve technical issues
• Support 5S and continuous improvement initiatives within the test area
• Execute APT-1600 ICT program conversions using Valor Process Prep
• Assist in bringing three newly purchased APT-1600 Takaya test systems online
• Convert ICT programs from older APT-9411 and APT-1400 platforms
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain smooth production and testing operations
• Take initiative to identify and resolve issues while supporting an efficient, high-quality testing environment
• A/AS degree or 2-year post–high school training with at least 3 years of relevant experience
• OR 5 years of relevant experience without a degree
• Hands-on experience with Takaya ICT programming and test equipment
• Experience using Valor Process Prep or Test Expert software
• Prior experience working with test equipment, test solutions, or in a lab/manufacturing environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams
• Demonstrated initiative and a commitment to continual learning
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
