HR Data Analyst

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented HR Data Analyst (Contract) to support a global leader in the aerospace industry. In this role, you’ll transform complex data into insights that directly impact people strategies, workforce planning, and organizational decision-making. As an HR Data Analyst, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to design methodologies, perform data extraction, conduct exploratory and large-scale analysis, and translate findings into dashboards, reports, and strategic recommendations. This role goes far beyond generating numbers—you will create data-driven narratives that help shape the future of HR processes and initiatives.
This is a contract position based in Herndon, VA with a pay range of $35.00–$40.00 per hour based on experience.
Collect, clean, and transform data from multiple sources to support HR analytics needs.
Perform large-scale data analysis using mathematical and statistical methods.
Identify key insights and develop actionable recommendations for business stakeholders.
Suggest enhancements to modeling techniques and contribute innovative ideas to the team.
Build dashboards and visualizations that clearly communicate data-driven findings.
Use data analytics tools such as Python, Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, and other platforms.
Create and execute queries using SQL, Python, or similar programming languages.
Document processes, methodologies, and outcomes for clarity and future use.
Collaborate with fellow analysts and HR team members on technical and strategic projects.
Work with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured datasets.
Assemble large and complex datasets to meet business requirements.
Develop, test, and deploy machine learning models as needed.
Conduct business data analysis and present recommendations aligned with organizational standards.
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical field such as Computer Science, Data Science, MIS, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or related discipline—or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 3 years of experience with strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
Practical experience applying analytical tools (e.g., Tableau, SQL) to solve business challenges.
Familiarity with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data (XML, JSON, etc.).
Strong communication, presentation, and time-management skills.
Experience conducting data analysis using tools such as Python, MATLAB, R, Tableau, Alteryx, Excel, or SAS.
Some exposure to machine learning algorithms or experimental modeling.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Certification in Data Engineering (e.g., Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer).
Experience with databases, data models, and data warehouse concepts.
Strong curiosity, self-driven mindset, and a passion for learning emerging technologies.
Experience assembling large, complex datasets.
