PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to support a global leader in the aerospace industry. This full-time, 12-month consulting opportunity places you at the heart of a team developing advanced technologies that shape the future of aerospace, national security, and scientific discovery.

As a member of the Advanced Technology Software Engineering Team, you will work on-site in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where software drives innovation. You’ll partner with physicists, superconducting foundry engineers, and fellow software engineers to deliver intuitive, high-quality user interfaces that support breakthrough technologies. Your work will directly influence product adoption, efficiency, and engineering effectiveness—making you a key contributor to major technological advancements.

What You’ll Do

• Design intuitive, high-performance UI/UX solutions to maximize user adoption.

• Collaborate with end users to identify design improvements and streamline engineering workflows.

• Partner with software engineering teams to scope and plan UI/UX tasks that align with fast-moving project milestones.

• Support troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts across the engineering environment.

• Potentially support backend development for legacy and new systems (if qualified).

• Work on-site with the team and participate in rotating on-call responsibilities, as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and 8+ years of related experience.

• Proficiency with C++ or WinForms.

• Experience designing UI/UX interfaces for legacy applications.

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment.

• This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.                                               
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing and updating WinForms applications.

• Background supporting complex legacy software suites.

• Ability to contribute to backend software development.

• Experience using the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence).

• Familiarity with Agile Scrum processes.

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, First Shift (9x80); occasional on-call rotation

• Starting Pay Rate: $126.20  per hour
