Test Engineer
TEST ENGINEER – SHAPE THE FUTURE OF ADVANCED AEROSPACE TECHNOLOGY
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a highly skilled Test Engineer to support a leading organization in the aerospace industry. This is a full-time, 12-month consulting opportunity that places you on the front lines of pioneering technology with a team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.
As a Test Engineer, you will join an Advanced Technology Software Engineering team working at the intersection of physics, software, and cutting-edge hardware development. Your contributions will directly support the delivery of reliable, high-quality software that powers next-generation aerospace systems. This role is on-site and deeply collaborative—perfect for an engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, technical environment.
Develop and stand up software test architecture for a legacy COTS application.
Collaborate closely with developers, scrum masters, and product owners to identify critical test priorities.
Write, execute, and document comprehensive test cases to ensure software reliability prior to release.
Develop unit tests, smoke tests, and support code refactoring efforts to improve quality.
Troubleshoot, identify root causes, and support solutions for complex technical issues.
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and 8+ years of relevant experience.
Working knowledge of C++ or WinForms.
Experience developing unit tests, smoke tests, and supporting code refactoring.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work on-site full time.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Experience building and deploying test architectures for legacy applications.
Hands-on experience with the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, etc.).
Background working within an Agile Scrum framework.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within high-speed engineering teams.
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is preferred, though not required.
