PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Test Conductor to support a world-leading aerospace innovator at Edwards AFB, CA. This is a unique opportunity to take the lead in high-visibility test operations that directly influence next-generation propulsion technologies and flight systems.
As a Test Conductor, you will serve as the hub of communication, coordination, and execution for liquid rocket engine testing. Your role ensures that cutting-edge propulsion systems are validated safely, efficiently, and accurately—making you an essential part of programs that shape aerospace capabilities for decades to come.
This role is based on-site at the Aerospace Test Site (NATS), located within the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at Edwards Air Force Base. Expect exciting hands-on work, a tight-knit team environment, and opportunities to drive meaningful breakthroughs.
Lead test activities, serving as the primary coordinator between engineering, operations, and support teams.
Develop, review, and approve test procedures, work instructions, checklists, and readiness documentation.
Conduct pre-test readiness assessments to ensure all personnel, equipment, and resources meet operational and safety standards.
Direct teams during live test operations, ensuring adherence to procedures, schedules, and safety protocols.
Monitor and interpret real-time test data, identify anomalies, and lead troubleshooting and corrective actions as needed.
Maintain detailed logs and prepare comprehensive test reports summarizing results and findings.
Work closely with engineering teams to ensure designs are testable and to validate performance.
Support safety initiatives, including hazard assessments and risk reviews.
Recommend process improvements to enhance test efficiency and technical rigor.
Bachelor’s degree + 5 years of experience in mechanical hardware integration/test/assembly
OR Master’s degree + 3 years of experience
OR High school diploma/GED + 9 years of experience
Experience developing and executing test procedures, analyzing data, and troubleshooting mechanical/electrical systems
Strong knowledge of test methodologies, instrumentation, and safety protocols
Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to produce technical documentation
Ability to work in environments requiring Level B PPE and in test settings such as clean rooms, outdoor facilities, or labs
Valid driver’s license
Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Hands-on experience testing liquid propulsion engines
Experience with hypergolic propellants
Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards (OSHA, CFR, ITAR)
Strong background in hardware setup, instrumentation, sensors, and data acquisition tools
