Structure & Payload Design Engineer 3

Description:
Chipton-Ross is seeking a Structure & Payload Design Engineer 3 for a contract opportunity in Ridley Park, PA.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
•Good CAD Experience (Catia or NX).
•Aerospace Design Experience (Structures or Mechanical Systems).
•Understanding of GD&T.
•Good Communication.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists to develop, integrate and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design. Develops, maintains and modifies basic structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle. Performs tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Assists with supplier development, test and production activities and coordination with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals. Supports investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements. Works under general supervision.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
•Strong PDM (Product Data Management) Background.
•Good MS Office Suite Skills (Excel and PowerPoint).
•Basic Coding.
•Good understanding of analysis and load paths.
•Ability to lead an engineering change from requirement to release.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
•Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

WORK HOURS:
•Full-Time
•1st shift, start between 6am - 9am & end between 3:30pm / 6:30pm.

ADDITIONAL:
•Candidate must have a secret clearance.
