Job Title: Aircraft Mechanic
Location: San Antonio, TX
Job Type: Full-Time | 12-Month Contract
Schedule: Monday–Friday; must be available for variable shifts (1st or 2nd) based on business need
Pay Rate: $35/hour
As an Aircraft Mechanic, you’ll perform a variety of complex maintenance and repair tasks on aircraft structures and components. You’ll use your expertise to troubleshoot, repair, and modify mechanical systems, ensuring aircraft meet the highest safety and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform close-tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation of structural components
Execute sealing, shimming, and preserving of structures following standard repair processes
Read and interpret blueprints, technical orders, and retrofit requirements
Use specialized tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, rivet guns, and cable tensiometers
Access and manage parts and discrepancies through computer systems
Support other team members to meet cost and schedule goals
Maintain certifications and comply with safety and FOD (Foreign Object Debris) procedures
This role involves hands-on work in varied environments, including confined spaces and elevated platforms.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
4+ years of experience with non-porous metals (aluminum, titanium, stainless steel)
4+ years of experience interpreting schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
4+ years using structural hand tools (e.g., drills, countersink cages, rivet guns)
4+ years in heavy structures work — drilling, fastening, and modifying aircraft structures
Ability to work variable shifts, including potential overtime, weekends, and holidays
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with F/A-18 aircraft or depot-level heavy maintenance
Experience working with titanium aircraft structures
