PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a global aerospace industry leader to hire an experienced Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineer (Level 4) for an exciting opportunity in San Antonio, TX. In this critical role, you’ll contribute to the design, testing, and validation of Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) systems that ensure the safety, reliability, and performance of some of the world’s most advanced military and commercial aircraft—including the US E-7A, VC-25B, and KC-46A Tanker.
This position is ideal for an expert-level engineer with deep technical knowledge in EMI/EMC design and analysis, a passion for problem-solving, and a desire to contribute to high-impact aerospace programs that support national defense and global security.
Perform complex trade studies, modeling, simulations, and analyses to optimize system and component performance for E3 compliance.
Lead Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) design and validation efforts for aircraft electronics, wiring, and structures.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and E3 performance across systems and suppliers.
Develop and implement test automation for aircraft modifications and system validations.
Support project management activities, including work statements, budgets, schedules, and design reviews.
Apply advanced EMI/EMC engineering principles to resolve complex issues and improve overall system reliability.
Prepare and present technical data, analyses, and reports to internal stakeholders and external partners.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Engineering Physics, or Physics.
7+ years of related experience in Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), EMI/EMC design, or E3 engineering.
Strong understanding of RF isolation, shielding, grounding, and filtering concepts.
Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Experience in the aerospace or defense industry.
Knowledge of MIL-STD-461/464 and/or DO-160 EMI/EMC standards.
Hands-on experience with aircraft-level E3 requirements, qualification testing, and bonding best practices.
Familiarity with RF systems, computational E3 analytical tools, and system-level E3 verification.
Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in a relevant field preferred.
