Summary:
Work collaboratively to develop and author manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, fabrication, and material handling.
Apply a strong understanding of materials and processes to define operational procedures and build sequences that promote operational excellence.
Evaluate equipment and tool performance to verify efficiency, identify deficiencies, and implement corrective actions to maintain production quality.
Provide input to product design to optimize manufacturing techniques, equipment utilization, and design concepts.
Operate within a model-based engineering environment (3DX) to support process development and system integration.
Participate in periodic travel as required to support program needs.
Leverage extensive aerospace manufacturing experience to contribute to project success and continuous improvement.
Collaborate effectively within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) to achieve production and design objectives.
Demonstrate the technical expertise and confidence to work independently and make critical program decisions.
Requirements:
Active Secret Clearance with an investigation within the last 5 years or Continuous Evaluation (CE) Enrollment
STEM degree (or equivalent technical education)
Authoring manufacturing assembly work instructions
Aircraft subsystems assembly and integration
Aircraft structures assembly
Hands-on production/shop floor support, including direct ownership of operations and interface with touch-labor employees
Reviewing engineering drawings and 3D models
Proficiency with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems
On-vehicle testing and troubleshooting of aircraft subsystems
Familiarity with jet engine integration, service, and maintenance
Wire harness and interconnect installation/integration
Knowledge of aircraft fuel systems
Experience supporting development, prototype, and first article builds (new product introduction)
Working knowledge of metallic part machining
Proficiency in 3DX, CATIA V5, and DELMIA software
Evaluating designs for Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) considerations
Manufacturing assembly planning experience
Aviation maintenance experience, A&P license, or equivalent background
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
Preferred: Experience with complete integrated air vehicle designs.
