1st Shift: Monday–Thursday (4:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday (2:30 PM – 1:30 AM)
3rd Shift: Friday–Sunday (4:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
Job Type: Full-time | Consultant (6–24 Months)
Pay Rate: $29.00 per hour
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Microelectronic Technician to support our client, a global leader in the aerospace industry. In this hands-on role, you’ll operate, maintain, and support semiconductor fabrication equipment that powers some of the most advanced systems in aerospace and defense. Your work will directly contribute to developing mission-critical technologies that shape the future of flight, communication, and exploration.
As a Microelectronic Technician, you’ll play a vital role in the operation and upkeep of semiconductor fabrication tools and cleanroom processes. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers and technical teams to ensure high-quality performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate, monitor, and maintain semiconductor processing tools, including photolithography, etch, deposition, metrology, and packaging systems.
Load and unload wafers while ensuring proper documentation and traceability.
Perform equipment startups, calibrations, and preventive maintenance.
Troubleshoot and assist in resolving process deviations or tool malfunctions.
Follow detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and cleanroom protocols.
Accurately record data, maintain production logs, and communicate updates to team leads.
Collaborate with engineers and technicians to support process improvement initiatives.
Maintain strict adherence to cleanliness and safety standards in the cleanroom environment.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Proficiency with computers and communication tools (Microsoft Office).
Ability to work in a cleanroom environment (gowning required).
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Comfortable standing for long periods and lifting up to 25 lbs.
Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a FOD-controlled lab or manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with shop order or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
Associate degree or technical training in Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
Knowledge of both wet and dry semiconductor processes.
Exposure to R&D or low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environments.
Understanding of semiconductor fabrication process flows (front-end and back-end).
