PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Microelectronic Technician to support our client, a global leader in the aerospace industry. In this hands-on role, you’ll operate, maintain, and support semiconductor fabrication equipment that powers some of the most advanced systems in aerospace and defense. Your work will directly contribute to developing mission-critical technologies that shape the future of flight, communication, and exploration.

What You’ll Do

As a Microelectronic Technician, you’ll play a vital role in the operation and upkeep of semiconductor fabrication tools and cleanroom processes. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers and technical teams to ensure high-quality performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate, monitor, and maintain semiconductor processing tools, including photolithography, etch, deposition, metrology, and packaging systems.

• Load and unload wafers while ensuring proper documentation and traceability.

• Perform equipment startups, calibrations, and preventive maintenance.

• Troubleshoot and assist in resolving process deviations or tool malfunctions.

• Follow detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and cleanroom protocols.

• Accurately record data, maintain production logs, and communicate updates to team leads.

• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to support process improvement initiatives.

• Maintain strict adherence to cleanliness and safety standards in the cleanroom environment.

What You’ll Bring

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.

• This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.

• Proficiency with computers and communication tools (Microsoft Office).

• Ability to work in a cleanroom environment (gowning required).

• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

• Comfortable standing for long periods and lifting up to 25 lbs.

• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a FOD-controlled lab or manufacturing environment.

• Familiarity with shop order or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).

• Associate degree or technical training in Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field.

• Knowledge of both wet and dry semiconductor processes.

• Exposure to R&D or low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environments.

• Understanding of semiconductor fabrication process flows (front-end and back-end).
