Electrical Component Engineer

Schedule: Monday – Friday, First Shift (8 AM – 5 PM)
Pay Range Starting at: $72.59 per hour
PDS Tech Commercial, Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical Component Engineer to support an industry-leading aerospace partner in Berkeley, MO. In this role, you’ll apply deep electrical and systems engineering expertise to evaluate, qualify, and integrate high-reliability electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical components into advanced aerospace systems. Your work will ensure mission-critical performance and reliability across cutting-edge programs that shape the future of flight and defense technology.
Evaluate and qualify electrical components for repair and design applications, ensuring compliance with specifications and reliability standards.
Collaborate directly with subcontractors and suppliers to verify that all electronic components meet program and contract requirements.
Apply engineering knowledge to electrical components, assemblies, and subassemblies used in high-reliability aerospace environments.
Support the selection, qualification, and integration of connectors, wires, cables, and harness assemblies.
Provide expertise in Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS) and related electrical disciplines.
Recommend alternate components for new product development and legacy systems.
Utilize project management tools to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals.
Integrate Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), LEAN, and Quality principles into daily engineering processes and procedures.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, reports, and engineering standards for component qualification and usage.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Aerospace, or related Engineering discipline (Master’s or PhD preferred).
9+ years of experience in electrical component design, testing, or qualification.
Hands-on experience with electrical components, wiring harnesses, connectors, and cables.
Proven background in military aerospace or related high-reliability industries (medical device, automotive, industrial).
Deep knowledge of electrical and aerospace military specifications and standards.
Experience in wiring design and fabrication of cables, bundles, and harness installations.
Strong understanding of aircraft and weapons system design requirements.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Experience using project management tools to track engineering deliverables.
Familiarity with environmental testing, lab qualification, and lean engineering practices.
Experience defining work statements and providing technical consultation to peers or suppliers.
Significant experience with military and industry electrical specifications.
