Structural Design Engineer

Pay Rate: $67.40 per hour
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join our partner’s world-class aerospace team in Wichita, KS. This is your opportunity to apply advanced engineering principles and cutting-edge design tools to create flight vehicle structures that define the next generation of air travel.
In this role, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, integrate, and evaluate structural designs that deliver performance, manufacturability, and cost efficiency—all while ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory standards.
Develop, document, and evaluate flight vehicle structure designs for performance, functionality, and cost effectiveness.
Apply engineering and physical science principles to ensure designs meet regulatory and customer requirements.
Support primary and secondary structure design, payloads design, weights, and lofting as needed.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to optimize designs for production.
Utilize advanced 3D modeling tools to create detailed structural components and assemblies.
Participate in reviews, provide technical input, and contribute to continuous design improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (required).
Proven experience in metallic structural design.
Proficiency in CATIA and familiarity with ENOVIA design and data management systems.
Hands-on experience in aerospace product development and new aircraft design.
Strong understanding of aero structures and the integration of flight vehicle components.
Preferred Qualifications:
Background in commercial aircraft structures or OEM-level product development.
Ability to interpret and apply design standards and compliance requirements.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
