Microelectronic Technician

Schedule: 1st Shift | 3/10 Weekend Shift (Friday–Sunday)

Starting Pay Rate: $16.50 – $25.34 per hour
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading aerospace innovator to find a Microelectronic Technician who’s ready to take their technical expertise to the next level. In this role, you’ll support the development and maintenance of advanced semiconductor and microelectronic systems that power cutting-edge aerospace technology. Your work will directly impact mission-critical systems used in flight, communications, and defense applications.
As a Microelectronic Technician, you’ll perform critical preventive and corrective maintenance across a diverse range of semiconductor fabrication tools and equipment. You’ll work alongside engineers and researchers to ensure production and R&D operations run at peak performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform maintenance and repairs on front-end and back-end semiconductor equipment (steppers, sputters, etchers, coaters, dicing saws, and more).
Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, vacuum, pneumatic, and basic control system issues.
Partner with engineers and tool owners to identify and correct equipment faults quickly.
Support tool installations, upgrades, and decommissioning in collaboration with vendors and facilities.
Log maintenance activity, downtime, and part usage accurately in internal systems.
Maintain inventory of critical spares, consumables, and safety components.
Follow strict cleanroom and safety protocols, ensuring all tools meet cleanliness and calibration standards.
Participate in process improvement projects to enhance tool reliability and reduce downtime.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
2+ years of experience in equipment maintenance or a technical trade.
Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to read schematics, manuals, and technical drawings.
Familiarity with vacuum pumps, gas systems, and cleanroom operations.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, research-driven environment.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree or technical certification in Mechatronics, Electronics, or a related field.
Experience maintaining semiconductor tools used in both wet and dry processes.
Exposure to low-volume, high-mix R&D or prototyping environments.
Knowledge of safety protocols related to gases, chemicals, and high-voltage systems.
