About the Role

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a highly skilled CAD Designer to join our partner, a global leader in the aerospace industry. In this critical role, you’ll play a key part in supporting the design and development of advanced launch vehicle systems. As part of a high-performing Mechanical Engineering Design team, you’ll ensure every drawing, model, and component meets the highest standards of precision, manufacturability, and performance.

Your expertise in Siemens NX, Teamcenter, and GD&T will help shape next-generation aerospace designs that push the limits of innovation and engineering excellence.

What You’ll Do

• Review and check mechanical design and drawing packages for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with industry and military standards.

• Evaluate designs for fit, function, manufacturability, and fabrication efficiency.

• Perform 3D modeling and create or revise parametric drawings using Siemens NX managed with Teamcenter.

• Conduct tolerance analyses, verify hardware fitment, and ensure documentation aligns with ASME standards.

• Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve design issues and ensure seamless production support.

• Support vendor and cross-functional liaison efforts as needed.

• Maintain strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Required:

• Associate’s degree in Drafting or Engineering and 6+ years of related experience.

• Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5-2009; GDTP Professional Certification preferred.

• Proficiency with Siemens NX and Teamcenter.

• Knowledge of ASME Y14.41 Digital Product Definition Practices.

• Understanding of CNC mill and lathe manufacturing processes.

• Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.

• Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
  
  This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.                                               
   

Preferred:

• Experience with weld design per AWS D17.1 and D1.1 (AWS CWI certification preferred).

• Experience supporting DoD programs.

• Familiarity with ASME Y14.100 and MIL-Standard 100 documentation.
