Pay Range: $35 to $48 per hour
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a highly skilled CAD Designer to join our partner, a global leader in the aerospace industry. In this critical role, you’ll play a key part in supporting the design and development of advanced launch vehicle systems. As part of a high-performing Mechanical Engineering Design team, you’ll ensure every drawing, model, and component meets the highest standards of precision, manufacturability, and performance.
Your expertise in Siemens NX, Teamcenter, and GD&T will help shape next-generation aerospace designs that push the limits of innovation and engineering excellence.
Review and check mechanical design and drawing packages for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with industry and military standards.
Evaluate designs for fit, function, manufacturability, and fabrication efficiency.
Perform 3D modeling and create or revise parametric drawings using Siemens NX managed with Teamcenter.
Conduct tolerance analyses, verify hardware fitment, and ensure documentation aligns with ASME standards.
Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve design issues and ensure seamless production support.
Support vendor and cross-functional liaison efforts as needed.
Maintain strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Required:
Associate’s degree in Drafting or Engineering and 6+ years of related experience.
Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5-2009; GDTP Professional Certification preferred.
Proficiency with Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
Knowledge of ASME Y14.41 Digital Product Definition Practices.
Understanding of CNC mill and lathe manufacturing processes.
Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Preferred:
Experience with weld design per AWS D17.1 and D1.1 (AWS CWI certification preferred).
Experience supporting DoD programs.
Familiarity with ASME Y14.100 and MIL-Standard 100 documentation.
