Assembly Mechanic
Location: Wichita, KS
Schedule: Full-Time, 1st Shift (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday)
Pay Rate: $57.14 per hour
Assignment: 3-Month Consultant Role
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled Assembly Mechanic to support our partner, a leader in the aerospace industry. In this role, you’ll be hands-on in assembling, installing, inspecting, and completing precision aircraft structures and systems that keep the world flying safely. Your expertise will help ensure every component meets exacting engineering and quality standards—because excellence at every step is what makes aerospace innovation soar.
Assemble, install, seal, rig, inspect, and complete precision structural and system components per engineering drawings and process specifications.
Perform functional tests, fit, form, and function checks on assemblies and components.
Use shop mathematics and precision measuring tools to verify product quality and alignment.
Utilize tooling in the assembly of components into sub-assemblies or completed units.
Identify, document, and correct discrepancies following quality and engineering standards.
Conduct basic preventative maintenance on tools and equipment.
Support the continuous flow of production by training and assisting fellow team members.
Routinely move products within the manufacturing work area and complete required transactions.
Drill, shoot, squeeze, and install rivets and Hi-Loks; perform cut and splice operations as needed.
Cross-train in inspection and support multiple production areas as required.
Ability to pass the plate test (required)
Strong mechanical and structural assembly background within an aerospace or precision manufacturing environment
Proficiency with hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and shop math
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and process documents
Commitment to safety, accuracy, and quality workmanship
Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs or production schedules
Immediate availability preferred
