Location: Seattle, WA | Starting Pay Rate: $49.87/hour | Type: Full-Time, 12-Month Contract | Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7 AM–3:30 PM
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team, partnering with a global leader in the aerospace industry. In this hands-on role, you’ll help shape the next generation of aerospace technology by developing and optimizing manufacturing processes that ensure precision, safety, and efficiency in every build.
Your work will directly impact the success of cutting-edge electrical and mechanical systems used in some of the world’s most advanced aircraft and test platforms. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll serve as the owner of the build plan—ensuring compliance with design, configuration, and process requirements while driving continuous improvement across operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement production and tooling methodologies for complex electrical and mechanical systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across disciplines.
Lead the development of detailed build plans, including assembly instructions, tooling requirements, and inspection processes.
Perform Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) analyses to enhance producibility and reduce variability.
Evaluate design concepts to ensure manufacturability and alignment with program requirements.
Resolve high-impact technical issues affecting performance, cost, or schedule.
Apply Lean principles to optimize workflows and improve efficiency.
Support production readiness, ensuring safety, quality, and reliability are built into every process.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry.
Strong knowledge of electrical/mechanical manufacturing processes and assembly sequencing.
Experience working with manufacturing systems and tools such as PDM, CAPP, CMES, MESci, EPARTs, or GOLDesp.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
Experience leading or managing projects and teams.
Background in Manufacturing Engineering, preferably within aerospace or electronics.
Experience with space or military electronics, project management, or work package estimating.
