PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our team, partnering with a global leader in the aerospace industry. In this role, you’ll play a key part in advancing next-generation satellite communication systems that power global defense and connectivity missions. Your work will directly impact the modernization of critical MILSATCOM ground systems, supporting the management of payloads for the Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) satellite constellation.

What You’ll Do

As a Systems Engineer, you’ll collaborate across disciplines to plan, design, and verify complex system solutions. You’ll be involved throughout the product lifecycle—from concept and development through delivery and maintenance—helping ensure the reliability, performance, and innovation of advanced communication systems.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Applying a systems engineering approach to develop and verify communication satellite command and control architectures and network infrastructures.

• Evaluating operational needs, defining performance requirements, and ensuring compatibility across physical and functional interfaces.

• Conducting technology trade studies and cost/feasibility analyses to guide design decisions.

• Performing mission performance, reliability, maintainability, testability, and systems integration analyses.

• Supporting requirements management, risk assessment, and technology readiness processes.

• Leading efforts in test environment setup, automated testing, and verification of software systems for quality and safety.

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure system success.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry.

• 9+ years of related engineering experience (or 7+ years with a Master’s degree).

• Proficiency in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods, processes, and tools.

• Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence.

• Expertise in systems-of-systems communication architecture design.
  
  This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.                                               
   

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with satellite mission operations.

• Proficiency in requirements management (definition, allocation, decomposition).

• Familiarity with DOORS or similar requirements management tools.

• Knowledge of satellite telemetry, command and control, and ground control software architectures.
