Contract Rate: $72.00 $80.00/hour
Direct Hire (DH) Salary: $110,000 $150,000/year

Summary:
Perform stress analyses of assemblies and components for new product development and sustaining engineering activities
Prepare detailed and accurate stress analysis reports
Support technical discussions with customers on stress-related topics
Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineering team members
Assist with planning, organizing, and scheduling stress analysis activities
Investigate and implement improved stress analysis techniques and processes
Participate in initiatives to enhance engineering efficiency and product development speed
Complete special projects and other duties as assigned
Requirements:
BS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution (alternate degrees considered)
7+ years hands-on product development focused on mechanical design and analysis
Classical stress analysis of metallic components/assemblies using hand calculations
FEA-based analysis (linear and non-linear)
Industry references: MMPDS, MIL-HDBK-5, Bruhn s Analysis and Design of Flight Vehicle Structures, Roark s Formulas for Stress and Strain
Proficient with MS Office, SolidWorks 3D CAD/CAE, Mathcad
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills
Extensive knowledge of metallic materials; aerospace manufacturing methods preferred
Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, results-driven
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Able to manage multiple projects independently and as part of a team
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with stress analysis of mechanism designs
Advanced engineering degree highly desirable
Knowledge of aerospace industry practices and manufacturing methods
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
Primarily sedentary office work in a climate-controlled environment
Occasional standing, walking, reaching, kneeling, or climbing stairs
Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs; occasional extended carrying of up to 60 lbs
Finger/hand dexterity for computer use; vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
Minimal travel required
