Aircraft Structures Mechanic
Location: Lake Charles, LA
Type: Full-Time | 6-Month Consultant Contract
Schedule: Monday to Friday — must be available to work any shift
Starting Pay : $41.38 per hour
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading aerospace innovator to hire experienced Aircraft Structures Mechanics in Lake Charles, LA. This is an exciting opportunity to work on advanced aircraft systems that support critical national operations. You’ll be part of a team that keeps aircraft mission-ready — performing maintenance, modifications, and repairs that ensure safety, precision, and performance.
Maintain, repair, and modify aircraft structures, components, and engines of complex to extreme difficulty.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical components, replace parts, and verify system functionality.
Read and interpret maintenance manuals, engineering data, and technical specifications to determine repair methods.
Perform structural modifications and repairs using advanced sheet metal techniques.
Inspect engines, flight controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and other aircraft systems for cracks, corrosion, leaks, or wear.
Use specialized tools and equipment such as torque wrenches, micrometers, cable tensiometers, and diagnostic testers.
Conduct inspections (100-hour, phase, and periodic), document maintenance actions, and ensure all work meets quality and safety standards.
Provide technical guidance to junior technicians and assist engineering teams with complex mechanical challenges.
Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant aircraft maintenance experience.
Strong understanding of aircraft structural systems and repair techniques.
Ability to work in physically demanding environments and wear required safety gear.
Willingness to work any shift and relocate between work areas as needed.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Preferred Qualifications:
A&P License.
Experience with E-6B or 707 aircraft platforms.
Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
