Location: Saint Augustine, FL | Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 AM–1 PM
Type: Full-Time, 6-Month Consultant | Starting Pay Range: $22.65 hour
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Computer Operator to support one of the most advanced aerospace organizations in the world. In this role, you’ll operate and monitor electronic computer systems that drive engineering, business, and scientific operations—ensuring data is processed accurately, efficiently, and securely. Your attention to detail and technical acumen will help keep vital systems running that support aerospace innovation and national defense initiatives.
You’ll play a key role in supporting document management, engineering data operations, and information handling for a high-performing aerospace environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Monitor and operate computer systems to process technical and business data following established procedures.
Configure and load peripheral equipment such as tapes, printers, and drives.
Observe control panels for system messages or errors and take corrective action as needed.
Perform diagnostic tests and report errors or malfunctions to the appropriate teams.
Support document scanning, image cleanup, and file format conversions for engineering records.
Manage mail services including sorting, routing, and processing deliveries.
Provide engineering support through data updates, printing, laminating, plotting, and archiving.
Maintain records retention systems including retrieval, indexing, and documentation management.
Follow proper procedures to handle customer and project information securely.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent, with some additional education or related experience.
Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in engineering support or document management environments.
Experience in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated industries.
Prior military background (preferred but not required).
Strong communication skills and the ability to multitask under minimal supervision.
