Summary:
Perform assembly, installation, sealing, rigging, inspection, and completion of precision structural and system components.
Work from engineering drawings, process specifications, and quality requirements to ensure compliance with all production standards.
Conduct functional testing and ensure proper fit, form, and function of assemblies and components.
Obtain required information from prints, charts, sketches, work instructions, and verbal/electronic sources.
Apply shop mathematics and use precision measuring and test instruments to perform and validate work.
Utilize appropriate tooling to assemble components into subassemblies or final products.
Verify work meets engineering and process specifications; document and report any discrepancies.
Ensure equipment and tooling are properly maintained and certified per procedures.
Perform routine preventive maintenance (e.g., replacing filters, light bulbs, and maintaining lubrication/coolant levels).
Move products safely within the work area using approved shop equipment and complete necessary system transactions.
Perform assigned work within scheduled timeframes.
Support continuous production flow by assisting and training employees across classification levels.
Assist in training other personnel in assembly, installation, and inspection techniques.
Cross-train in inspection and achieve SIA qualification.
Set up and operate conventional and/or CNC and fastening equipment with less than simultaneous 3-axis movement (e.g., drive Matic processes).
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
787, 737, 777, and Unclassified Defense
Must have Fillet Seal and Electrical Bond experience.
Experience with rework and Fillet Seal/Electrical Bond operations is required.
