Location: Carroll, IA | Type: Full-Time, 12-Month Consultant
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2nd Shift (2:00 PM–10:00 PM) or 3rd Shift (10:00 PM–6:00 AM)
Pay Rate: 2nd Shift – $19.50/hr | 3rd Shift – $20.00/hr
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking Inspection Technicians to join our team, partnering with a leader in the aerospace industry. In this role, you’ll be part of a team ensuring every part, assembly, and system meets the exacting standards that define aerospace excellence. As an Inspection Technician, you will perform hands-on inspections to ensure compliance with engineering and manufacturing specifications. Your work helps guarantee the quality, reliability, and safety of aerospace components that power flight around the globe.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect electronic units and mechanical components using precision tools such as micrometers, gauges, and calipers.
Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and quality procedures.
Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections, including First Article approvals.
Operate computer systems to record and track inspection data.
Verify accuracy and completeness of work order documentation.
Conduct visual and physical inspections of subassemblies and finished units.
Complete First Article Inspections (FAI) and related reports.
Perform Preliminary Material Reviews (PMR) as needed.
Support and adhere to EHS, Quality, and Continuous Improvement (CI) standards.
Work overtime or extended shifts as required to meet production goals.
Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shift (indicate preference on your resume).
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience with mechanical or electronic inspection.
Familiarity with measuring instruments and quality assurance processes.
Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.
