Starting Pay Rate: $54.67 per hour
Note: Regular and predictable attendance is required.
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Equipment & Tool Engineer to support a global leader in aerospace manufacturing. In this role, you’ll design and implement advanced tooling and equipment solutions that enable efficient, precise, and safe aircraft production. Your technical expertise will directly impact the quality, performance, and innovation of next-generation aerospace systems.
Design, analyze, and modify complex aerospace manufacturing equipment and tooling to meet stakeholder and production system needs.
Develop and integrate robotics, automation, and new technologies to enhance manufacturing performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional experts to create bids, specifications, and procurement documentation.
Estimate, plan, and execute tooling projects—from acquisition to modification—ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
Validate performance through testing, acceptance procedures, and preventative maintenance planning.
Document and maintain configuration control for hardware, software, and tooling assets.
Train production and maintenance personnel on tooling use and upkeep.
Implement interim solutions for damaged or unsafe equipment.
Drive reliability improvements through the application of advanced engineering tools and methodologies.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in a production and/or manufacturing environment.
3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office and standard computing systems.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Model-Based Definition (MBD), CATIA, ENOVIA, and PDM systems.
Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
5+ years of related experience or equivalent education and hands-on expertise.
Proven experience providing technical support and product definition across the product lifecycle.
Education/Experience:
Typically acquired through an accredited technical education program (Bachelor’s or higher) and 5+ years of related experience. ABET accreditation preferred but not required.
