PDS Tech Commercial is seeking highly skilled and mechanically inclined candidates for our client Honeywell. This position is an Assembly & Test Technician position in Rocky Mount, NC. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong technical or mechanical background and hands-on experience in industries such as automotive, aerospace, electrical, plumbing, construction, machining, or aviation.
About the Role
As an Assembly & Test Technician, you will perform standard assembly and testing processes on hydro-mechanical fuel controls in a high-paced aerospace production environment. You’ll work with precision tools and electronic instructions to ensure product quality and compliance with safety and manufacturing standards.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble and test aerospace components using precision tools, fixtures, and measuring equipment
Follow electronic work instructions, engineering procedures, and blueprints
Perform in-process inspections, calibration, and visual quality checks
Maintain accurate documentation and records
Detect and report faulty operations or defective materials
Participate in Tier meetings, continuous improvement, and problem-solving activities
Maintain work areas according to 5S and Visual Management standards
Support Lean and Six Sigma initiatives
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
High School Diploma (valued)
Technical or mechanical background
Experience working with hands in a manufacturing or industrial setting
Ability to follow detailed instructions and interpret blueprints
Proficiency with hand tools and precision measuring devices (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
Basic computer skills and intermediate math skills
Must be able to lift over 30 lbs. and work with minimal supervision
Willingness to work overtime, including weekends
Must complete vision testing within the first week of assignment
Steel-toe boots required
Preferred Qualifications:
2–3 years of experience in assembly/test manufacturing
Associates degree
North Carolina WorkKeys Career Readiness Certificate (Silver or Gold)
Six Sigma training or certification
Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
Experience in a fast-paced aerospace production environment
Familiarity with 5S principles and continuous improvement activities

Pay Rate: $22.00/hr
Shift: 2nd shift (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM), with required training on 1st shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) for at least one month
Eligible for the Bonus Program up to $3,000:
$1,000 at 30 days with perfect attendance
$1,000 at 60 days
$1,000 at 90 days (must have received 14-day bonus to qualify)
