PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a global leader in the aerospace industry to hire a Flight Readiness Technician supporting the 787 Program in North Charleston, South Carolina. This role is critical in ensuring every aircraft leaving the facility is flight-ready, safe, and built to the highest standards of excellence.
As a Flight Readiness Technician, you’ll play a hands-on role in the final stages of aircraft production and delivery. Your technical skill, precision, and dedication will directly influence the safety and performance of some of the world’s most advanced commercial aircraft.
Perform flight test installations and aircraft functional testing to ensure systems perform as designed.
Assist in troubleshooting pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and avionics systems, isolating and correcting faults.
Conduct pre-flight and post-flight checks, as well as maintenance and modification actions.
Verify and inspect work performed for accuracy and compliance.
Support pre-delivery inspections and readiness operations for aircraft delivery.
Partner with leads and engineering teams to plan, schedule, and complete tasks that meet operational objectives.
Required Qualifications:
Ability to work any shift (days, nights, weekends).
Minimum 6 months of avionics and/or electrical experience.
Minimum 6 months working with live aircraft systems and flight operations.
Awareness of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) risk and prevention.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of related experience in aerospace or manufacturing.
FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license.
Hands-on experience with 787 Program operations.
Familiarity with production systems and field/flight line operations.
Associate degree or equivalent technical education.
