PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our partner, a global leader in the aerospace industry. In this pivotal role, you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to design, develop, and validate cutting-edge aircraft systems that meet the highest standards of safety, performance, and reliability.
As a Systems Engineer, you’ll help define and integrate complex systems across the full lifecycle — from concept and architecture to validation and certification. Your expertise will directly influence next-generation commercial aircraft and ensure compliance with rigorous engineering and regulatory standards.
Lead and support requirements definition, decomposition, and allocation from aircraft-level to system and item level.
Develop and maintain functional and logical system architectures.
Perform and support safety assessments (FHA, PSSA, CMA) aligned with system safety objectives.
Guide item design and implementation, ensuring traceability and compliance across all system levels.
Plan and execute verification and validation activities throughout the systems engineering lifecycle.
Support safety analyses (SSA, FMEA/FMES) and adherence to aerospace and defense standards (DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754A, ARP4761).
Collaborate with hardware, software, safety, and test engineers to ensure robust system integration.
Provide documentation and technical input for certification and audit activities.
Participate in technical reviews, design audits, and system integration meetings.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Aerospace, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field.
9+ years of experience in systems engineering or complex system development.
Proven experience with requirements management, design, implementation, verification, and validation (V-model process).
Knowledge of system safety and reliability assessments (FHA, PSSA, SSA, FMEA/FMES, CMA).
Familiarity with certification standards (ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-178C, DO-254).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with DOORS or equivalent requirements management tools.
System modeling knowledge using SysML/UML (Cameo or equivalent).
Experience in test planning, execution, and system integration.
Background in aircraft design, development, or certification.
Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in a related technical discipline.
