Everett or Renton, WA | Full-Time | Starting Pay $66.33/hr | 12-Month Contract | First Shift (7:30 AM–3:30 PM)

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our partner, a global leader in the aerospace industry. In this pivotal role, you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to design, develop, and validate cutting-edge aircraft systems that meet the highest standards of safety, performance, and reliability.

Your Impact

As a Systems Engineer, you’ll help define and integrate complex systems across the full lifecycle — from concept and architecture to validation and certification. Your expertise will directly influence next-generation commercial aircraft and ensure compliance with rigorous engineering and regulatory standards.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and support requirements definition, decomposition, and allocation from aircraft-level to system and item level.

  • Develop and maintain functional and logical system architectures.

  • Perform and support safety assessments (FHA, PSSA, CMA) aligned with system safety objectives.

  • Guide item design and implementation, ensuring traceability and compliance across all system levels.

  • Plan and execute verification and validation activities throughout the systems engineering lifecycle.

  • Support safety analyses (SSA, FMEA/FMES) and adherence to aerospace and defense standards (DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754A, ARP4761).

  • Collaborate with hardware, software, safety, and test engineers to ensure robust system integration.

  • Provide documentation and technical input for certification and audit activities.

  • Participate in technical reviews, design audits, and system integration meetings.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Aerospace, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field.

  • 9+ years of experience in systems engineering or complex system development.

  • Proven experience with requirements management, design, implementation, verification, and validation (V-model process).

  • Knowledge of system safety and reliability assessments (FHA, PSSA, SSA, FMEA/FMES, CMA).

  • Familiarity with certification standards (ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-178C, DO-254).

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with DOORS or equivalent requirements management tools.

  • System modeling knowledge using SysML/UML (Cameo or equivalent).

  • Experience in test planning, execution, and system integration.

  • Background in aircraft design, development, or certification.

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in a related technical discipline.
