Position: Non-Destructive Test (NDT) Quality Specialist
Type: Full-Time; Consultant (12 months)
Location: North Charleston, SC
Schedule: Monday–Friday; must be willing to work variable shifts, weekend overtime rotations, and occasional shift overtime.
Starting Rate: $35.28 per hour
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Non-Destructive Test (NDT) Quality Specialist to support our partner — a global leader in the aerospace industry — at their state-of-the-art facility in North Charleston, SC. In this critical quality assurance role, you’ll perform specialized testing and inspections to verify the integrity and safety of aircraft structures and components that take flight every day.
Your expertise will ensure that every part meets the highest standards of excellence, supporting one of the most advanced commercial aircraft programs in the world.
Set up and operate specialized non-destructive test (NDT) and measurement equipment.
Perform inspections, collect and analyze data, and communicate findings clearly.
Recommend and assist with corrective actions for identified quality issues.
Conduct and document non-destructive testing and acceptance of repairs.
Provide on-the-job training (OJT) to other team members.
Utilize technical insight to monitor and report adverse trends.
Follow all company policies, processes, and approved inspection methods.
Required Skills & Experience:
Current or prior NAS410 Level 2 certification (or equivalent) in Ultrasonic Testing and Eddy Current Testing — documented evidence must be submitted with application for Level 3 review.
Minimum 3 years of NDI/NDT experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or related industries.
Minimum 3 years of experience inspecting parts, components, or assemblies.
Willingness to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime.
Ability to work in confined spaces.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
NAS410 Level 2 certification (or equivalent) in Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, and/or Radiography Testing.
Experience with Ultrasonic C-scan analysis and composite materials.
Proficiency with digital radiography, liquid penetrant, and magnetic particle methods.
Capable of working at heights up to 55 feet and fitting through 10” x 18” openings.
Experience writing NDT procedures and techniques.
Familiarity with Continuous Improvement methodologies.
Education:
Typically requires an Associate degree and 6+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination such as Bachelor’s degree + 4 years of related work experience, or 8+ years of industry experience.
