PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support our partner, a global leader in aerospace innovation and advanced structural solutions. Based on site in Foley, AL facility, this exciting role offers cutting-edge technology exposure, and the opportunity to directly impact the efficiency and quality of next-generation aircraft production.
Your Mission: Drive Excellence in Aerospace Manufacturing
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll be a key contributor to the optimization of aircraft assembly operations. From enhancing manufacturing layouts to implementing advanced process improvements like automation and robotics, you’ll help ensure quality, efficiency, and compliance across every production line.
Your work will enable faster builds, stronger products, and more efficient assembly—delivering real-world impact from day one.
What You'll Be Doing (Day-to-Day Responsibilities)
Design and arrange manufacturing layouts, machines, and tooling to support seamless assembly.
Ensure manufacturing processes follow proper sequencing and comply with EH&S and Quality standards.
Collaborate with design engineers to improve product producibility and line performance.
Apply data analytics and SPC to enhance First Pass Yield (FPY), OEE, and overall productivity.
Lead or support process upgrades, including automation, robotics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Create and maintain documentation: routings, BOMs, visual aids, standard work instructions, and more.
Drive problem-solving and root cause investigations (C/A, OEE, FPY, etc.).
Participate in PFMEAs, Control Plans, and tool design reviews to reduce build times and costs.
Partner on digital manufacturing solutions with in-house tech experts.
Qualifications – What You Bring to the Table
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 2+ years of relevant experience
OR
No degree + 6+ years of relevant experience
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specs, and models
Experience designing for factory/production conditions
Strong verbal and written communication and basic math skills
Demonstrated Lean/Continuous Improvement experience
Skilled in MS Office and manufacturing software platforms
Proficiency in developing sequences of operations and manufacturing documentation
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with robotics and automation
Training in Six Sigma / Red X methodologies
Understanding of Project Management principles
