Buyer – Drive Supply Chain Excellence in Aerospace
Chula Vista, CA | 6-Month Contract (Temp-to-Perm) | $32.35/hr | 1st Shift, 8AM–5PM

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a detail-oriented Buyer to join our team, partnering with a global leader in the aerospace industry. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in managing supplier relationships, ensuring on-time delivery of high-quality components, and supporting continuous improvement across the supply chain.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare and place purchase orders, managing multiple suppliers and components.

• Ensure timely delivery of products that meet strict quality standards.

• Oversee delivery, quality assurance, cost management, quote preparation, and negotiations.

• Monitor contract performance for compliance with terms and obligations.

• Provide status updates to internal customers and attend program/production meetings.

• Develop and execute supplier strategies to improve delivery and performance.

• Collaborate with engineering, quality, production control, and external suppliers.

• Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives and other assigned tasks.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, OR Master’s degree with 3+ years, OR 9+ years of equivalent work experience without a degree.

• This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.                                               

• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, especially SAP.

• Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the aerospace industry.

• Knowledge of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI).

• Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or ACE methodologies.
