Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Field Engineer 2's for a contract opportunity in San Diego, CA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o 2-5 years with STEM Bachelor's degree; 0-3 years with Master's; Additional years of work experience and/or certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree.
o Experience with the repair, configuration, troubleshooting and operations of network devices and computer systems (Windows and Linux Operating Systems Certifications).
o Must be able to use engineering drawings for troubleshooting and use standard desktop computer and Windows based tools to produce or edit documents including drawings, plans, procedures and reports.
o Must be very well rounded and knowledgeable in SW installation procedures, commercial IT equipment troubleshooting, system level acceptance testing, and commercial electronics hardware.
o Candidate must be willing to work extended hours and non-standard shifts.
o Candidate must be willing to work on CONUS and OCONUS assignments as required.
o Candidate must complete a rigorous GSEG SME training curriculum and complete all certification requirements included in the curriculum.
o Must have the physical ability to easily maneuver around equipment in test labs and able to pass a pre-assignment medical examination IAW USCENTCOM INDIVIDUAL PROTECTION AND INDIVIDUAL/UNIT DEPLOYMENT POLICY requirements.
o At minimum, must have an Active Top Secret Security Clearance to be able to start this position and the ability to obtain/maintain a Polygraph and/or Special Program Access.
o Comp TIA Security+ and A+ Certifications (experience in lieu of A+ cert is acceptable).
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Looking for a Field Engineer - Ground Segment (GSEG) Field Service Representative (FSR) to support our Sustainment team working in a dynamic and diverse environment supporting customer operations in the field and in laboratories. This position requires the ability to learn and apply new technology, applications, and trouble shooting skills in a high paced environment requiring critical thinking and decision making.
Responsibilities:
o Be part of The Triton Ground Segment Integrated Product Team (IPT) overseas. This is an exciting and dynamic opportunity to work across a multi-disciplinary team in a fast pace hands on environment.
o Be part of a deployment/sustainment team and perform hands on technical tasks during ground system installation, integration, and execution activities.
o Join a Field Engineering team supporting initial deployment, operations and maintenance of a complex airborne and terrestrial tactical communication system providing voice and data services in real world operations on the Triton program at various locations.
o Work closely with several diverse Integrated Product Teams as well as provide guidance to manufacturing engineering, logistics and operations staff.
o Quickly develop Triton ground segment system and process knowledge by working closely with the local design and production team.
o Serve as the technical Support onsite during physical installs of ground segment systems. The environment consists of tightly controlled configuration managed system with attention to process definition. The onsite build up will consist of HW installation, Network configuration, Software deployment, customer audits and acceptance testing.
o Work closely with the Military/Government customer as well as internal engineering teams supporting field operations to include daily operations, trouble shooting, Training and execution of critical missions.
o Assist and develop proficiency with performance of other engineering and operational duties across multidisciplinary IPTs as required.
o Maintain certifications and training of the most current and relevant technologies and aspects of a dynamic system with upgrades related to diminished manufacture supply (DMS) and new technologies.
o Maintain and ensure fleet assets are operational and support daily fleet operations ensuring customer objectives are successful.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Active TS/SCI with poly security clearance.
o DoD 8570 Certification (DoD 8570 defines certification levels based on job functions, including IAT (Information Assurance Technical), IAM (Information Assurance Management), and IASAE (IA System Architect and Engineer).
o Experience working in a diverse and complex HW and SW integration and deployment environment with an emphasis on configuration management and first time quality.
o Experience working in several of the following engineering disciplines: Test Engineering, Field Engineering, Hardware Design, Manufacturing Engineering, Software Deployment, Cyber Security, Systems Engineering and Network Engineering.
o Experience with Microsoft Server, Windows domain architectures, Windows Active Directory, LDAP, VMWare, and knowledge of SAN storage systems, Red Hat Linux Operating System experience and/or certification for current versions.
o Knowledge of Python and Powershell scripting.
o Experience with Ansible.
o Network Certifications/Extensive Experience.
o Knowledge of environmental monitoring tools (Wireshark/HBSS/Solar Winds/Splunk).
o Experience with deployment of system images in an enterprise environment.
o Experience with SIPR network, trusted downloads and DoD Safe.
o It is imperative that this candidate be familiar with ground stations which utilize a System Admin .Manual (SAM).
o Experience with IETM's, NATOPS, Maintenance instructions and Maintenance sign off processes.
o Experience supporting deployed aeronautical systems.
o Voice and Data COMMS experience a plus.
o Experience with Cyber system requirements, STIGs, ATO and other relevant processes.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in STEM is required.
School must be accredited.
WORK HOURS:
9/80 workweek. On-site. 7AM - 5PM.
