Machine Operator
Location: Kinston, NC 28504
Job Type: Full Time; Consultant (6 Months)
Pay Rate: $29–$31 per hour + $110 weekly per diem (for qualified candidates over 100 miles away)
Schedule: Monday–Friday; must be able to work any assigned shift
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking skilled Machine Operators to join our team, partnering with a global leader in the industry. This role is vital to producing high-quality aerospace and industrial components that meet exacting standards, ensuring safety, innovation, and reliability worldwide.
Set up and operate conventional and CNC machines to produce parts, mechanisms, and assemblies.
Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications to determine machining sequences and setups.
Use precision measuring tools to inspect parts and ensure strict tolerance requirements.
Perform related machining functions including milling, drilling, boring, honing, grinding, deburring, and fastening.
Monitor and verify product quality through inspection and control procedures.
Conduct routine machine maintenance (filters, bulbs, lubrication, coolant levels, etc.).
Move parts and assemblies within the shop as needed to support production flow.
Mentor and assist other operators, supporting a collaborative, high-performance environment.
Train to become MVP qualified for advanced capabilities.
Required Qualifications
2+ years of CNC machine operation experience
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering specifications
Strong understanding of precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)
Willingness to work any assigned shift and stand for an 8-hour shift
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of a formal machinist apprenticeship or equivalent technical training
Experience operating both manual and CNC equipment in a high-precision environment
