Pay Starting at: $42.08 per hour
PDS Tech Commercial, in partnership with a leader in the aerospace industry, is seeking a motivated Composites Materials and Processes Engineer to join the Composite Materials Fabrication Site in Mesa, AZ. In this hands-on role, you’ll bridge the lab, factory, and design worlds—developing, qualifying, and improving composite materials that power next-generation aerospace platforms. Apply chemistry, physics, and materials science to advance composite materials and processing methods
Support composite part fabrication with technical evaluations and process solutions
Lead root-cause investigations, corrective actions, and preventive solutions for material issues
Create and execute test plans, author technical reports, and contribute to specifications
Qualify and approve materials, processes, and equipment for aerospace production
Guide laboratory testing and collaborate across disciplines including Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Procurement
Travel to suppliers as needed to ensure compliance and integration of new technologies
Incorporate safety, LEAN, and quality principles into daily work
Influence real products on advanced and proprietary aerospace platforms
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Data Science, or Computer Science
Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years’ experience OR a Master’s degree (Level 2)
Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience OR a Master’s degree and 3+ years’ experience (Level 3)
1+ years of hands-on experience with composites, elastomers, and associated processing techniques
Knowledge of polymer chemistry analytical techniques and materials (epoxy, cyanate ester, bismaleimide, urethane, polyimide, reinforcements, adhesives)
Experience with composite failure modes and failure analysis
Familiarity with engineering drawings, Microsoft Office, and technical report writing
Strong communication skills with experience delivering technical presentations
Ability to thrive in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
