Software Instructor

Location: Elkridge, MD 21075
Schedule: Monday – Friday; First Shift (8:00 AM – 4:45 PM, 9x80)
Starting Pay : $60.22 per hour
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Software Instructor to join our Technical Data & Training team, partnering with a global leader in the aerospace industry. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in developing and delivering training programs that equip international customers to design, code, test, and integrate software for the COBRA Command and Control Center—a system at the forefront of mission-critical technology. Your expertise will directly empower teams shaping the future of aerospace defense and global security.
As a key member of the Technical Data & Training (TD&T) department, you will:
Develop and deliver software training programs for international customers.
Train personnel to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues.
Collaborate with software engineers and integration teams to design, test, and implement software updates.
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) conducting skills gap analyses and building tailored courses.
Support development, installation, integration, and testing of COBRA software updates for customer delivery.
Communicate training program progress and results to leadership.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with 10+ years’ experience, or Master’s degree in Computer Science with 5+ years’ experience.
Proficiency in at least two programming languages (C++, C, Java, HTML/XML, Fortran).
Strong knowledge of Linux-based systems (Redhat, AlmaLinux), Windows Powershell, or OpenVMS DCL.
Expertise in structured programming and Instructional System Design (ISD) using the ADDIE methodology.
Familiarity with Agile development methods.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on experience programming, testing, and integrating software for military systems.
Certified Military Instructor with programming background.
Practitioner-level knowledge in software programming languages, testing, and integration.
