Pay Rate: $43.05/hr ($37.96/hr + $5.09 H&W)
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a global leader in the aerospace industry to hire experienced Aircraft Mechanics for the JAWACS team in San Antonio, TX. In this role, you’ll work hands-on with advanced aircraft systems, ensuring mission readiness and supporting projects that directly impact national defense and aerospace innovation.
As an Aircraft Mechanic, you will:
Maintain, repair, and modify aircraft structures and mechanical systems, including flight controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, landing gear, and engines.
Troubleshoot and resolve malfunctions by applying technical expertise and interpreting engineering drawings, manuals, and specifications.
Perform flight control installation, rigging, and component change-outs (servo pumps, filters, engine parts, etc.).
Conduct structural repairs and modifications using sheet metal tools and precision measuring instruments.
Access aircraft systems, initiate online parts requests, and make required entries in logs and records.
Support and collaborate with other disciplines (Avionics, Structures, Electrics) to meet cost and schedule goals.
Follow all safety procedures including Hazardous Energy Control and Lock Out/Tag Out systems.
Occasionally lead small teams through complex maintenance and repair tasks.
4+ years’ experience in depot-level/heavy general aircraft maintenance.
Experience working with a variety of aircraft systems: hydraulics, flight controls, landing gear, engines, monuments, and fuel systems.
Strong knowledge of troubleshooting, repair procedures, and sheet metal/structural modifications.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical publications.
Familiarity with specialized aircraft tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, and sheet metal brakes/shears.
Must be able to work various shifts, weekends, and overtime as mission requirements demand.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Experience performing aircraft engine runs and borescope inspections.
Ability to operate aircraft tugs, forklifts, cranes, and powered elevating equipment.
Experience with REDARS and/or Gold-ESP systems.
ability to obtain Secret clearance post start (not a requirement)
