Assistant Background Screening Specialist
Job Type: Full-Time; Consultant (12 Months)
Location: Mesa, AZ
Schedule: Monday – Friday, First Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, flexible start based on business needs)
Starting Pay : $33.45 per hour
PDS Tech Commercial, partnering with a global leader in the aerospace industry, is seeking an Assistant Background Screening Specialist. In this critical role, you will help ensure the integrity and security of the workforce by supporting the background screening and adjudication process. Support the Background Screening team under the direction of the team leader.
Collect and analyze information from external agencies and internal systems.
Manage a high-volume caseload while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Communicate with candidates and internal partners about screening processes and follow-ups.
Conduct internal system searches to support visitor access and security.
Create and maintain background screening cases in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
Prepare information and cases for collaboration with investigative, ethics, legal, and HR teams.
Required Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in background screenings and/or investigations.
2+ years of experience managing caseloads and using electronic databases.
3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) Certification.
Knowledge of the criminal justice system and adjudication processes.
Understanding of EEOC regulations and employment law as they relate to background screening.
Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive data with integrity and discretion.
Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of related experience, Master’s degree with 1+ year, or equivalent education and experience.
