• Material Characterization:
  • Analyze and characterize metals, polymers, and composites using advanced instrumentation (e.g., SEM, TEM, XRD, FTIR)
  • Interpret microstructural and compositional data to assess performance
• Material Lifing:
  • Evaluate degradation mechanisms and life expectancy of materials
  • Conduct accelerated life testing and environmental exposure assessments
  • Develop predictive models for material lifespan
• Reporting & Documentation:
  • Prepare comprehensive reports detailing methodologies, findings, and recommendations
  • Ensure documentation meets industry and regulatory standards
• Collaboration:
  • Advise engineers and design teams on material selection and application
  • Participate in technical meetings and project planning sessions
• Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay current with advancements in material science and lifing methodologies
  • Identify and implement process improvements and best practices

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• 4–6 years of experience in materials engineering or a related field
• Experience in material selection for aerospace components
• Hands-on experience with material characterization techniques
• Proven understanding of material lifing and degradation analysis
• Familiarity with engineering blueprints and specifications
• Strong judgment and creativity in solving complex engineering challenges

• Pay Rate: $66.35/hour
