Summary:
Design and optimize manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, machining, and material handling.
Plan plant layouts to ensure efficient machine arrangements and productive workflows.
Define sequences of operations and specify tooling/equipment requirements to maximize product performance.
Adapt machine and equipment designs to factory and production conditions.
Integrate inspection and test requirements into production plans.
Monitor machinery, equipment, and tools for efficiency; investigate deficiencies and drive corrective actions.
Develop processes aligned with statistical process control (SPC) methods.
Provide input to engineering on design concepts and specification requirements to optimize manufacturability.
Ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement automation and process improvements.
Program and integrate industrial robots (e.g., Fanuc, Epson) into existing systems using PLC expertise.
Optimize and maintain automated production lines for maximum uptime, throughput, and quality.
Requirements:
Bachelor s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field.
5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in high-volume, low-mix environments.
Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and SPC methodologies.
Experience in machine design, equipment installation, and material handling.
Robotics and automation experience, including industrial robot programming and integration.
PLC programming expertise.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Certification in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or SPC preferred.
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
