Summary:
Apply nondestructive evaluation (NDE) methods (acoustic, electromagnetic, thermal, optical, radiologic) to develop novel approaches supporting affordability and maintainability.
Define requirements and approve tools, equipment, materials, parts, and processes used in engineering design, manufacturing, and maintenance.
Lead development of specifications and documentation for deployment of tools, materials, parts, and processes.
Lead validation and qualification of new tools, materials, parts, and processes.
Manage test and audit programs to qualify suppliers to applicable standards.
Utilize project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule objectives.
Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and customer requirements (ASNT, ASTM, AWS, ASME, ISO, etc.).
Support audits, root cause analyses, and failure investigations as a subject matter expert.
Assist the Team Lead in defining strategies and providing consultation.
Requirements:
Bachelor s, Master s, or Doctorate degree in engineering, physics, or chemistry from an accredited program.
5+ years of engineering experience.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of hands-on NDE/NDT engineering experience in regulated industries (aerospace, defense, energy).
Proficiency with NDE processes (ultrasonic testing, radiography, eddy current, penetrant inspection).
Experience in multi-discipline teams and working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong understanding of materials behavior, stress analysis, and fracture mechanics.
Experience with project management tools and managing multiple projects across locations.
Active/current Secret U.S. Security Clearance preferred but not required.
