Senior Software Engineer – Lead Real-Time Navigation Solutions! For our client Honeywell in Clearwater, FL.

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer for a remote role supporting the full lifecycle development of real-time, safety-critical navigational software for aerospace applications. This position requires strong technical expertise, hands-on coding skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will:

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of embedded real-time software for navigation systems.

• Decompose requirements and define work assignments.

• Develop software architecture and code for real-time operating systems (RTOS).

• Perform integration, system activities, unit testing, and coordinate external verification and validation.

• Support factory deployment and provide technical assistance.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with safety and certification standards.

What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics.

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering using C/C++.

• U.S. Citizenship (single citizenship required).

• Hands-on experience with:

• Mentor Graphics Nucleus RTOS and low-level drivers/HAL elements.

• Hardware bring-up and complex conditional build environments.

• IMU for motion and ranging/aiming functions.

• Familiarity with BitBucket/Jira toolset and Visual Code toolchain.
  Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with GPS (M-Code), Kalman Filter implementation, and inertial sensor usage.

  • Knowledge of software development lifecycles (Agile, Waterfall).

  • Experience in mission-critical or safety-critical environments.

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
