JOB TITLE: Aircraft Composite Mechanic
LOCATION: Kinston, NC
PAY RATE: $36/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

Per Diem: Standard $110 weekly per diem (for candidates living >100 miles away).

Summary:

Performs lay-up, assembly, pre-fit, and bonding of metal, composite, or laminate fabrications, parts, skins, and assemblies.

Follows engineering/manufacturing specifications to determine required materials, pressure, and temperature.

Operates autoclaves, hydraulic presses, and ovens to complete bonding cycles.

Performs sanding, burring, sealing, and finishing of assemblies.

May perform complex rework/repairs and quality checks per controlled procedures.

Utilize lay-up tools (optical and hard tools) for fabrication of assemblies.

Interpret prints, sketches, work orders, and specifications.

Apply shop math and precision measurement to verify conformance to specifications.

Ensure tool/equipment certifications are current.

Use and control solvents/cleaning solutions for bonding prep and painting.

Perform routine minor machine maintenance.

Move products within the work area and process transactions to the next operation.

Support continuous product flow by assisting/training team members.

Train toward MVP qualification; perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED

5+ years of composite experience (aerospace required).

Ability to start ASAP.

Flexibility to work any assigned shift, including weekends if needed.

Ability to stand and work for full 8-hour shifts.

Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
