Are you ready to be part of a team that plays a pivotal role in building the future of aviation? PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled and driven Automated Drilling Unit (ADU) Technician/Mechanic to join our Manufacturing team in Mobile, AL. As a key member of the team, you will provide critical technical and mechanical support to the ADU shop, ensuring the flawless setup and maintenance of ADUs for the production of commercial aircraft. 

What You’ll Be Doing: 

• Set-up & Implementation: Set up and implement ADU equipment, working alongside the manager. You’ll use your expertise to advise on best practices for floor setups and traffic strategies. 

• Technical Support & Maintenance: Oversee the qualification of ADUs, maintain and adjust ADUs, cutting tools, and drilling templates. Provide technical problem-solving support to the Head of Back Shops and Head of the Station. 

• Mentorship: Provide guidance to employees using ADU equipment for the first time, ensuring smooth operations and safety. 

• Continuous Improvement: Support the ongoing maintenance, repair, and optimization of ADUs, cutting tools, drilling templates, and test equipment. 

• Hands-on Mechanical Expertise: Use your extensive knowledge of mechanical work to ensure the highest quality standards in the final assembly line ADU Shop. 

Qualifications We’re Looking For: 

• Required:  

  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with the maintenance of ADUs, cutting tools, drilling templates, and test equipment. 

  • This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.

• Preferred:  

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role, demonstrating advanced skills and expertise. 

• Physical Requirements:  

  • Ability to engage in various physical tasks, including lifting up to 30lbs and standing for extended periods. 

  • Good vision, hearing, and the ability to operate a wide range of equipment. 

  • Willingness to travel and walk through production areas.
