Fuel Systems Mechanic
Job Type: Full-time; Consultant (6 Months)
Location: San Antonio, TX
Schedule: Monday–Friday; variable shifts (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) based on business need. Overtime and weekend work required.
Pay Rate: $41.00/hr ($35.91/hr + $5.09 H&W)
PDS Tech Commercial, partnering with a global leader in the aerospace industry, is seeking skilled Fuel Systems Mechanics to support integral fuel cell assembly (In Tank Mechanics) as part of the Joint and Installation team in San Antonio. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in assembling, sealing, and integrating major wing structures and systems—directly contributing to aircraft safety, reliability, and performance.
As a Fuel Systems Mechanic, you will:
Interpret and follow technical work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
Use chemical lubricants, sealants, adhesives, paints, coatings, and primers in assembly processes.
Assemble and install structural components, sub-assemblies, and systems—including sealing, plumbing, and electrical components—on both composite and metal aircraft.
Operate hand and power tools such as drills, riveters, torque wrenches, crimpers, and cable tools.
Inspect work for quality and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) control.
Work with computer-based production systems.
Safely operate mechanical lifts and elevated platforms.
Work 100% onsite, including in confined spaces such as wing fuel tanks.
Required Qualifications:
Ability to access/enter confined fuel tank openings (approx. 18” x 10”).
1+ years of experience using hand-held power tools.
1+ years of experience following oral and written instructions.
Willingness and ability to work variable shifts, including overtime and weekends.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Preferred Qualifications:
1+ years of assembly or mechanical experience.
Experience operating heavy equipment.
Background in aerospace, automotive, robotics, or related industries (including education or military).
Ability to work in confined spaces for extended periods.
Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, crawling, climbing, crouching, twisting, and working overhead.
Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling 10–35 pounds regularly.
Continuous use of high-impact vibratory tools.
Ability to work in noisy environments and from elevated platforms.
Regular and predictable attendance required.
