Schedule: Monday–Friday | First Shift 7 AM – 3:30 PM
Starting Pay: $50.98 per hour
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Equipment & Tool Engineer to join our Production Engineering organization, supporting major initiatives within the Fabrication Division. This role focuses on asset integration and systems engineering, where your expertise will directly influence equipment development, implementation, and improvement—critical to advancing aerospace manufacturing performance, safety, and reliability.

Evaluate program and project requirements, developing complex equipment concepts and production system solutions.
Compile and analyze technical data to determine effects on engineering design, usability, and production rates.
Ensure compliance with safety, maintainability, reliability, ergonomics, and regulatory standards.
Develop and release bid and purchase specifications for new equipment needs.
Troubleshoot production issues, addressing quality, safety, and repeatability concerns.
Create and implement work-arounds while maintaining hardware and documentation configuration.
Conduct asset studies and recommend solutions for equipment and resource optimization.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry (ABET accreditation preferred but not required).
Minimum 5 years of related engineering work experience, or equivalent combination of advanced education and experience (e.g., PhD, Master’s + 3 years).
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of project management experience supporting complex technical projects.
2+ years in hardware, software, and documentation configuration management.
3+ years of experience ensuring compliance with hardware and safety standards.
Knowledge of diverse manufacturing techniques.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment.
