Full-Time | Consultant (9 Months) | $45.00/hr ($50.00/hr with A&P License)
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking experienced Aircraft Mechanics for an exciting aerospace program in San Antonio, TX. This is a unique opportunity to apply your expertise in aircraft heavy structures while supporting critical projects that drive innovation in the industry.
As an Aircraft Mechanic, you’ll:
Perform heavy structures work including close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation on critical support structures.
Maintain, repair, and modify aircraft structural components, systems, and assemblies.
Troubleshoot and restore flight controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and other mechanical components.
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals to carry out complex modifications and repairs.
Use specialized tools and equipment such as torque wrenches, rivet guns, countersink cages, micrometers, and test instruments.
Guide and support junior technicians during advanced structural and modification tasks.
Operate forklifts, cranes, and powered lifts to safely complete assignments.
Ensure compliance with maintenance logs, technical orders, and safety standards.
Minimum 4+ years of on-aircraft heavy structures experience (please specify platforms and years in your resume).
Experience with non-porous metals (aluminum, titanium, stainless steel).
Proficient with schematics, assembly drawings, and technical publications.
Skilled with structures hand tools (drills, rivet guns, countersink cages, etc.).
Strong computer proficiency for technical systems and documentation.
Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting 35 lbs., working at heights, and using protective gear.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant (A&P) License.
Experience with VIP/executive fleet aircraft or specialty interiors.
Depot-level/heavy structures maintenance background.
Experience on executive fleet or large commercial platforms.
