JOB TITLE: Interior Design Engineer

PAY RATE: $62-75/hour

Summary:
Create conceptual designs for aircraft interiors using 3D modeling software and drafting tools.
Develop designs for fit, form, and function to meet customer and engineering criteria.
Provide designs for fabrication processes including sheet metal, composites, CNC machining, extrusions, and injection molding.
Validate engineering designs according to design standards, processes, and industry best practices.
Research and maintain knowledge of cockpit, cabin, and baggage structures, hardware, materials, and finishes.
Ensure adherence to program schedules and maintain weight-conscious designs.
Recommend improvements to engineering lead/management.
Collaborate with Quality and Production teams to resolve production issues.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Associate s degree in a CAD-related field required
Bachelor s in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
8+ years of engineering experience, including 3+ years in mechanical/interior design for aircraft or automotive interiors.
Experience in conceptual design development of aircraft or automotive interiors.
Knowledge of parts lists, bill of materials, and standard callouts.
In-depth knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
Familiarity with 14CFR Part 23/25 regulations.
Proficiency in CATIA V5 or equivalent 3D modeling tools (SolidWorks, Unigraphics).
Experience with Teamcenter or equivalent PLM tools.
Strong organizational, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Ability to plan and complete work independently and on schedule.
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
Physical Requirements:
Exposure to operational noise, temperature extremes, dust, and aircraft-related odors.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, climb ladders, reach, and stretch for prolonged periods.
Lift/carry up to 10 lbs unassisted; up to 50 lbs with assistive equipment.
Adherence to FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
Ability to read, hear, speak, see, and communicate effectively in English.
