JOB TITLE: Tool Design Engineer

Summary:

Develops and designs production tooling to support aircraft manufacturing in compliance with engineering requirements and manufacturing processes.

This role includes coordinating and documenting design reviews with internal teams and external suppliers.

Candidates should have strong knowledge of aircraft tooling, manufacturing processes, and ASME Y14.5 GD&T.

Review tooling requests, engineering models, and drawings for new tooling or modifications.

Develop tooling concepts to support new engineering projects.

Create 3D models and 2D drawings using Catia, following company tooling manuals.

Write tooling usage guidelines and ensure compliance with engineering/manufacturing requirements.

Coordinate internal and external design reviews.

Recommend improvements to tooling design processes and procedures.

Requirements:

Associate s degree in a technical field (Bachelor s preferred).

Minimum 5 years of aircraft tool design experience (automotive experience considered).

Proficient in Catia (10,000+ hours).

Strong knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T (GDTP certification preferred).

Machining/fabrication and/or CNC programming experience a plus.

Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, and walk for extended periods.

Lift/carry up to 10 lbs unassisted; up to 25 50 lbs with assistive equipment.

Tolerant of aircraft manufacturing environments (noise, heat/cold, odors, dust).

Must adhere to FAA, OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other regulatory safety requirements.

Ability to read, hear, speak, and communicate effectively in English.
