JOB TITLE: AOI Solder Inspector
LOCATION: Oldsmar, FL
PAY RATE: $22-26/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

Shift: Mon Thurs, 5:00 AM 3:30 PM EST; overtime on weekends

Qualifying Questions:

Summary:

Use a microscope to verify correct part placement and orientation, manually align parts before soldering, and perform post re-flow inspection and touch-up

Identify and correct solder defects, including poor wetted joints, solder voids/insufficient solder, shorts/bridges, misaligned leads, tombstoned/billboarded components, and other SMT defects

Use Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment to identify solder defects and distinguish false calls from actual issues

Read and interpret instructions and identify standard SMT components

Work in a fast-paced environment; sit for long periods and focus on detailed tasks

Use rework equipment such as hot air pencils, hot plates, and BGA removal tools (ERSA or OEM)

Review boards under X-ray to identify defects on bottom-terminated components

Run, solder, and tack down jumper wires on redesign boards (preferred)

Maintain IPC-610 and IPC J-STD-001 certifications (expired or active)

Requirements:

Minimum 5 years soldering experience

High School Diploma or GED

Must read and write English

Must pass a medical exam

Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
