Manufacturing Engineer
Location: San Antonio, TX (Onsite) | Payrate: starting at $69.21
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a highly experienced Manufacturing Engineer (Assembly & Installation) to support a major aerospace partner in San Antonio, TX. In this strategic role, you will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in build integration, supporting complex producibility studies and guiding design changes through to final installation.
This is your opportunity to directly influence the design-to-production lifecycle of advanced aerospace systems—working alongside top engineers and project stakeholders to ensure the seamless transition from concept to build.
Lead build integration efforts across multiple commodities, ensuring engineering changes are implemented efficiently and effectively.
Develop and optimize manufacturing and installation plans, with a focus on minimizing disruption and maximizing performance across systems.
Translate engineering designs into executable manufacturing processes, identifying and resolving complex technical challenges along the way.
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with engineering, production, tooling, and quality teams to align on deliverables and schedules.
Serve as a trusted SME in producibility analysis, Lean Enterprise practices, and design validation processes.
Create and support installation planning on shipside, managing risk and resolving change-related issues proactively.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives, sharing best practices and supporting tool/process enhancements to drive efficiency.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM discipline (ABET-accredited) and 10+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 5 years of experience interpreting and working with engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Minimum 5 years of experience developing and supporting engineering technical data packages for aircraft manufacturing.
Minimum 5 years of experience applying technical writing skills and collaborating in multi-disciplinary teams.
Proficiency in CATIA and strong understanding of manufacturing engineering workflows.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Experience with IVT (Integrated Visualization Tool).
Knowledge of GoldEsp or similar enterprise systems.
Previous manufacturing engineering experience in aerospace or defense environments.
Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
